Why Google Results Sucks - Volume 2

If you look on the left side of the Google search page you'll see "More search tools".
Click here and you'll see an expanded list of search tools.
At the bottom is a tool called "Verbatim".
Click on 'Verbatim' and nothing seems to happen.
Look to the top of the page just below the search field.
"Verbatim - Learn more"

(At this point they know what you're up to and they don't want to leave any bread crumbs to make it easy to find this tool.)

Here is the link to the page, and here is the text of the page. I'm sure they'll change it soon enough as once you read it you can see the utter arrogance in the tone of the message.

Basically Google is saying...you are a toad. You are a goat. You are a sheep.

YOU MY FRIEND ARE A PAWN IN A BIG SCHEME, AND THE HOUSE OF CARDS IS FALLING IN AROUND THE SCHEME SO THEY ARE NOW DOING WHAT THEY WANT RATHER THAN WHAT YOU ASK.

To quote Dick Cheney: "The wheel has turned, it is time for them to go."

Thank You Google! Sorry consumers... :(

It is sad to say I have mixed emotions that Google's search results suck so bad. On one hand, I have a great type-in category killing domain "earbuds.com", on the other hand, here are the top search destination sites for the Google search today, in order.

Skulldandy Ad
Bose Ad
Amazon Ad
Amazon
Google Merchant Image Ads
Best Buy
cNet
Sennheiser
Apple
Skullcandy
Staples
Koss
Tiger Direct
Bose

I mean give me a fawking break?

Um...cNet reveiws I'll give a nod. Actually one of these results is a "quality experience" for the search user.

The rest of these results suck. If I was on the front page...the results would suck. The results suck because Google wants them to suck.

In Google's own terms...GOOGLE SEARCH IS NO LONGER RELEVANT!

GOOGLE SERP R.I.P. - 2011

Say hello to the year of the type-in domain - 2012!

Frank Schilling must be loving life. As Google abandons search the Billion or so web users are left to type-in keyword domains in hopes of landing on the topic they are looking for.

It is quite obvious Google cannot figure out search. They have had a decade to prepare, and now as the web grows, Google can't figure out how to deliver quality search results to the end user. Almost as great an opportunity squandered as the United States of America.

Thankfully for the U.S.A. we can turn our country around, Google has sadly been corrupted by millionaire mentality. When the part-time massage therapist is a millionaire, the sense of urgency to be customer-centric falls by the wayside.

I just hope the massage lady left before the fall began.

Google promotes FORCED SEX METH, demotes legitimate small business...

Parents should be warned not to allow young children to use GOOGLE unsupervised!

When I quit running google ads my site dropped like a rock. Google's response: "No manual actions were taken to cause a drop in SERP."

What a line of BS. My site was PURE ADSENSE, nothing else. It stayed in the top 15 pages. I dropped adsesnse and added Linkshare and boom I drop to 24-25 then page 74. The Google Plus 50 penalty. Nothing "plus" about it except...it opens your eyes to the Google scam.

Once you stop nursing yourself on Google one realizes Google is bad. Just like anything big. They are bad. They have lost their focus. They engineer from the inside of cubicles. They ARE THE BOX.

Think outside the Box!

Google Overstepping Bounds?

I disagree with labeling images for the convenience of search engines or search users.

Google Webmaster Reconsideration Request

One of my sites is the keyword for the "category" and is also very brandable. The best the domain has ever performed is in the top ten pages on Google. I really have never made much effort to move it up because the bulk of the traffic comes from type-in destination traffic. Nearly 75% of the visitors to this site type the name in and come directly to the site. I'm guessing Facebook and Google are similar.

I recently noticed my website was positioned on page 75 of Google results. I breezed over the guidelines and did the basics and submit a request for consideration.

Before I came across this letter, I have sent a second request only after completely cleaning up all related topics on all of Google's guidelines.

Here is my form letter response from Google:

Reconsideration request for http://DomainBrand.org/: No manual spam actions found November 29, 2011

Dear site owner or webmaster of http://DomainBrand.org/,

We received a request from a site owner to reconsider http://DomainBrand.org/ for compliance with Google's Webmaster Guidelines.
We reviewed your site and found no manual actions by the webspam team that might affect your site's ranking in Google. There's no need to file a reconsideration request for your site, because any ranking issues you may be experiencing are not related to a manual action taken by the webspam team.

Of course, there may be other issues with your site that affect your site's ranking. Google's computers determine the order of our search results using a series of formulas known as algorithms. We make hundreds of changes to our search algorithms each year, and we employ more than 200 different signals when ranking pages. As our algorithms change and as the web (including your site) changes, some fluctuation in ranking can happen as we make updates to present the best results to our users.

If you've experienced a change in ranking which you suspect may be more than a simple algorithm change, there are other things you may want to investigate as possible causes, such as a major change to your site's content, content management system, or server architecture. For example, a site may not rank well if your server stops serving pages to Googlebot, or if you've changed the URLs for a large portion of your site's pages. This article has a list of other potential reasons your site may not be doing well in search.

If you're still unable to resolve your issue, please see our Webmaster Help Forum for support.

Sincerely,

Google Search Quality Team

So after making all the corrections I resubmit a new sitemap.xml and robots.txt. I also suggested to Google that after watching a video by one Mr. Lindley, I feel Google is stepping beyond their reach. I'll elaborate in a moment.

I'll post an update on this site and the rankings in a few days.

Search Engine Optimization - SEO

Last year I was looking for a Domain Portfolio software. In doing so I realized this to be an emerging keyword set and found Domain Portfolio Manager was registered so I made up Do Po Ma short for Domain Portfolio Manager. About ten days ago, dopoma.com hit the front page on Google search for the keywords. About a day or two later, maybe the same day...I was able to acquire the keyword set domainportfoliomanager.com.

DoPoMa.com is

Page 1 Number 3 for Domain Portfolio Manger

Page 4 Number 102 (40th32nd Position) for Domain Portfolio

? for Domain (I'm going to take a shot at getting in the top ten pages then working down.)

If I can crack dopoma.com into the top ten pages and move forward irrelevant of Google algorithm that would indicate I am Search Engine Optimizing my sites relevant to humankind. This could be considered pre-emptive.  :)

Good use of a good domain - Eastside Dental - IUdentist.com.

I have a client, Charlie Hayes, D.D.S.  Charlie is probably one of the most devoted dentists in Indianapolis.  On top of that, he is an all around great guy.  I can't recall a client who is more pleasure to work for.

Charlie doesn't nees a website, he doesn't even want new patients.  You see Charlie is in his seventies.  When you meet him he could  pass for 50-something.  I have to attribute this to attitude.

Since he doesn't need a website I offered to develop one for free and display his information on it.  At a minimum it will free Tammy up to point people to the website for basic information such as hours etc.  It is a great domain name and this is a great way for me to let him benefit while developing the site content for the dental industry.

IUdentist.com

As long as we don't use any logo that Dr. Hayes isn't privy to as a graduate of IU there should be no case for trademark infrigement.

Egypt shuts down Internet - does this hurt ccTLDs value?

I think the recent limiting of access to the Internet by Egyptian officials in effect undermines the value of ccTLDs.  At a minimum it will likely temporarily devalue Egyptian .eg ccTLDs.

This is something that will happen in our country in small chunks.  Certainly they would like to find the holes in the system.  I'm guessing hackers will eventually take a satellite over if they need one for access.

This is another reason gTLDs solidy in value.

Domains du jour

CedarNut.org

This I'm going to have to investigate.  With my Crohn's Disease I should be a decent test rabbit for this product.  I'm going to develop this as an informational site supported by advertising.  Perhaps get into the non-profit distribution of the nuts if I notice a substantial benefit to my own condition.  I'll keep you posted.

IndianaCharterFish.com and IndianaCharterFishing.com ad supported directory sites for charter service listings.

IndianaChicken.org and IndianaTurkey.org industry educational sites.

Bullish on "cuba/cuban" domains...

I am bullish on Cuban domains with Obama's announcement to ease Cuban Travel Policy .com.  I think Cuba4Cheap.com will also do well.  I have temporarily gifted the Cuba4Cheap.com traffic over to CheapCaribbean.com until I can get a site up.  I figure people should at least get what they came for when they land on a site.

CubaTravelPolicy.com and CubanTravelPolicy.com will try to purvey the most up to date Cuban Travel Policy of the U.S. Government for travelers to have a simple easy source for Cuban Travel Policy easing.

In hopes a portion of the American populace seek some value I have hedged some "inexpensive" cuban domains also.

InexpensiveCuba.com being the best of the bunch...I think.

As always my domains are for sale.  The cuban portfolio would go for over $25,000 at this time.  Probably a bit more.

Aves Enojado...

Angry Birds is getting 1,000,000 downloads a month.  EA Sports purchased the publisher Chillingo for $20 million.

Do you think anyone will give me $50,000.00 for my collection of every way to say "angry birds" in Spanish?

I have a porfolio of the six instances.  $9,999.99 each or six for $50,000.00

Unwise Men...

A local brewery opened up and they have chosen the name: Thr3e Wise Men.  In turn, they have registered thr3ewisemen.com as their domain.

The first time I tried to type it in...I had to check to see where the first "e" went.  I realized the naturally inclenation will be to type "t-h-r-3" for "t-h-r-e-e-e."

They'll stick it out becaue they already paid for the signage and printing.  Should be interesting to see how many people mis-type my domain.  I think I'll make them a 24-hour offer for it.

All9s.com

I like this domain even better after sleeping on it.  I'm a little bothered I didn't get in the fray over DrBob.com.  Had I known this domain was registered since 1994 it would had been a no brainer.  I MUST HAVE BEEN STONED!

I'm thinking of a website that sells anything for $9.99.  Have a product that retails for $9.99?  Let me know.  it must have a wholesale cost of under $5.

info@domagg.com

Hierarchy vs. Lowerarchy - dot com valuation...

Each day I awake and my conscious engages.  As it does the fabric of my life begins.  A large part of that fabric involves the aggregation of domains, hence Domain Aggregates.

I constantly ponder the choices of domains and attempt to hone my critical thought.  Domain keywords have become a part of our vernacular landscape so domain cultivation/aggregation with any efficacy takes a knowledge of the melding of social networking and technology.  (SociaTechnology.com)  As I diverge.  So those who choose the best "keyword" domains are in effect predicting the future, or more so..."reporting" on the future because the names are from a convergent of known fact.

Back to the title.

If the rest of the world individual country by individual country migrates to ccTLDs, does that diminish the value of a "dot com" or " .com " domain?

My conclusion is:  NO

Logic would have it that the World is using two (2) character country codes eg. .es, .uk, .fr etc. - ccTLDs, so .us domains would be valuable.  This doesn't seem to be the case.

Logic would then conclude that if you have a "dot com" or " .com " domain you in effect have the .us extension also since we don't use .us in any substantial way in the United States.

A downside is a company like IBM or Microsoft could/has afford(ed) to register all the IBM.uk, IBM.es, IBM.fr, etc domains of the 195 + recognized countries, and could then lobby to have the .com domain taken away to eliminate anyone who was able to secure a "competing" domain, but can't afford to register in the 195 country, nor may be allowed to.

The positive side of the .com (if you own one or choose to register one) is...there is only one dot com...there are 195 country codes.  I'm pretty much sure that using 195 domain name extensions to reach your audience goes against the fabric of the Internet's design.  On the other hand, it certainly provides that I can own DomainAggregates.com, but someone can also serve their local market from DomainAggregates.cc.  If I choose to segregate content on a per country basis there are many means to do this none the least of which is using a sub-domain such as CountryName.DomainAggregates.com.

Earbuds.com introduces "earbiner™ - no more tangled earbuds™"

Check out earbuds.com's newest product the "earbiner" a carabiner for your earbuds™.

"They keep dragging me back in..." ~ Tony Montana

I go fishing...I can't say what I found, but I am happy to be the owner of All9s.com.  An 11 year old domain with 1 prior registrar.

What a perfect domain name sales site:

NEW Registrations:  $9.99

Domain Sales:  $99.99 - $9,999,999.99

All 9s Baby! (.com of course!)

PS: All 0-10s.com are gone now.  All9s.com was the last which encouraged my investment.

Why it's called a "web"...

I went looking for indyrecords.com, ended up with...

IndyVinyl.com

and...

IndyKink.com

see how the worm hole forms!

Today's Morsel...

Today I picked up LocalDomains.org.

It is not often I find it worthy to buy a .org unless it is high quality, OR I can secure the .net and .org along with the .com.

I usually only find it to purchase a .org if it is very high quality.  Another recent is MononTrail.org.  This is very local, but will make for a great charitable domain for my business and a platform for advocay, which i think the .orgs are great for.

My current three .orgs:

QRScan.org - QR Code Advocacy

LocalDomains.org - Local Domain advocacy

MononTrail.org - Monon Trail advocacy, trai ladvocacy in general

Speaking of birdseed II...

I gladly left a domain on the table the other day.  I couldn't use it in my plans so I left it behind.  Interestingly, one of my confidants found it within himself to acquire the domain.  I'll have to keep information closer to the belt now as this doesn't mean the domain wouldn't work in at a later date.

Not to mention I have many directions to go before SB.

I took DomainAggregate.com just because I forgot to the other day.  it also is a good category domain as a keyword set.  It will be in the future vernacular, and I'm always acquiring choice names in that spectrum.

My two other acquisitions for the day are both related, and made up words.

sociatechnology.com which I believe is the category forming of the morphing between social networking and technology.  sociatek.com as the commerical brand for the category.  Regardless, I think sociatek.com has great brand potential.

Speaking of "birdseed"...

I'm not sure about the legalities of it.  I'm going to have to research it, but I'll state here AngryBirdsDay.com is in no way affiliated with AngryBirds.com nor Rovio.  AngryBirdsDay.com is a public information website used to facilitate the purveyance of Angry Bird related material and goods.  Initially the destination will be the meetup site.  We will however be developing the landing page to allow for related advertising etc.

Motorola vs. Sony

I wanted to mention something about last night's CES Sony Press Conference and Motorola Press Conference.  I happened to tune into CNet just as Motorola was announcing "the end of waiting".  I'm a domainer okay, that's what I do, so I check the whois and TheEndofWaiting.com is available.  I go to my registrar and begin the registration process.  Meanwhile the DroidBionic announcement comes on.  For some stupid reason I check the whois instead of just assuming the Motorola brains have missed on securing both assets.

As a result of my own hesitation, I miss on Droid Bionic, but secure Android Bionic, which I personally think is better universally over the Motorola "specific" branding.

Anyhow, the point to be made here is...why were any of Atrix4G.com, TheEndofWaiting.com, DroidBioinic.com or AndroidBionic.com domains available?  Why not for the cost of $10 per year make it a mute point?  If their attorney sneezes before they email me about the domain, it will cost $24 to have the suit dry cleaned.  That is only one sneeze.

If anyone at Motorola is listening, contact me at info@dopoma.com > Domain Portfolio Manager.  I specialize in securing virtual assets to protect brand and mark dillusion.

We'll also be rolling out a product DomainPortfolioMonitor.com to monitor your Domain and Trademark usage.

On the contrary, I couldn't find any birdseed on the ground during the CES Sony Press Conference.  Xperia Arc their new phone had its .com taken by someone near the source on December 22.  I am guessing he found a leak.

Today's Aggregates

Today I took a few positions.  Local, Universal and Infringement.

Quick Draw from dream host got DroidBionic.com ahead of me.  I would have beat him but I hesitated.  Besides AndroidBionic.com and TheEndofWaiting.com weren't bad consolation prizes.  We'll see how they do.  I must be stupid, but maybe these companies don't care about these keyword domains?  With Atrix4G.com rounding out the Motorola names, I'll give them each a $500 value.

The Local gems are LillyOrchard.com and LillyOrchards.com.  The "Lilly" refers to Eli Lilly family orchards that have supplied apples for cider etc. locally for years.  This is an operating business with historical ties.  I value this combination at $1250.00.

PersonalAdspace.com and NetworkAdspace.com are both great ad properties of the future.  $1250.00 per.

EarphonesandHeaphones.com adds to our earbuds.com™ dominance.

MononPizza.com is another local.  It will probably be the name of my pizza shop.

My final aggregate for today I can't release as it defines a new strategy we have at DomainAggregates.com

Tune in later, I'm going back to watching the Sony press conference.  Kudos to Sony for protecting their assets.  I haven't found an available keyword in their Press Conference yet.  Four for Motorola.  Wonder why Sony is winning the personal space?

Domain Aggregates welcomes you!

This blog is our space on the web to discuss what we're up to.  Domain Aggregates was formed as a result of divergent domain holdings that required an inventory and domain portfolio management.  In the process of organizing our own domains we realized these needs were not unique.  On the cusp of the beginnings of a new "society", we have chosen to whole-heartedly leap into the domain lanscape.  The result of our investments will be pooled under Domain Aggregates in a few categories.

Initially we have interests in Domain Sales, Web Hosting, Website Development, Domain Monetization - all under our DoPoMa.com brand.  DoPoMa.com will shortly go online as a full-service domain registration website.  Secondly, Hardware/Software - Service/Support continue to be a large part of our business, but we are pulling TechGroupIT.com under the Domain Aggregates moniker as well.  Next is QRMglobal.com poised to benefit from tremendous growth in QR Code or "Qurick Response Marketing" codes.  QRscan.org is our advocacy site will be rolling out soon.  Then QRMglobal.com will follow shortly as we roll out additional products.  Finally, the gem of the future, XYZmedia.com and "AdLocalization.com"....sorry we can't announce the name yet!

Ad Localization is the way of the future.  Ad Localization is so important that Google has received a patent for their methods to use GPS-based localization.

Domain Aggregates is proud to announce we are working on a "Google-free" Ad Localization platform.  Details will be forthcoming in the near future.

We'll be at the X Games most of the month with our earbuds.com™ and DoPoMa.com™ brands,  hoping one of our athletes gets a gold and some air time for Domain Aggregates!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.  We look forward to a great 2011.
